Our difference
Revolution Ropes is a unique rope manufacturing company, created specifically to resolve issues that were identified in the rope market in Australia and the Pacific region. Our rope braiding facility is one of a kind, and was designed to be extremely agile, and with research, development and prototyping in mind. We braid standard and customised ropes, using the latest fibres and technologies to resolve issues for our clients in various industries who need high-tech ropes and specific braids to perform in a particular way. In addition to just creating the rope, we undergo thorough consultation with our clients to understand their issues and provide the best solutions specific to their needs, goals and industry. We provide advice on the best ropes and braiding techniques, develop maintenance and service schedules and have the technical knowledge to explain why certain fibres have been used in their product to obtain the most benefits for our clients. We communicate directly with our clients during the manufacturing process, to keep them updated and allow for changes to be made if necessary. We also teach our clients and their staff how to utilize the rope to achieve the best results.
Our facility
Our rope braiding facility, located in Sydney, Australia, was developed to provide our clients access to a unique custom rope manufacturing experience. The facility was designed specifically to be agile, putting you in touch with the expert braider personally through our consultation services, while reducing both costs and lead times. Our machinery and resources are ideal for prototyping as well as research development of rope for specific and custom projects. Revolution Ropes is small enough to reduce lead times during the consultation, prototyping and development phases, whilst remaining large enough to manufacture rope for the local market. We are the only rope braider in the world that is designed to do what we do.
Our multiple industry expertise
Over the years we have worked across many sectors, providing various types of rope all with different features, benefits and uses. We previously worked predominantly in the marine industry, but over time we have branched out into various other industrial sectors, to provide unique, custom rope solutions that were unable to be resolved previously. Arbor, various branches of the energy sector, towing, mining and stage rigging, are now all industries which we operate in and have been providing rope solutions for, allowing us to develop experience and knowledge in the various different fields. Developing a broad range of solutions across multiple industries has provided us with extensive knowledge on the most effective solutions, no matter the project. If you are experiencing a rope related problem in your field, we are confident we can provide you with the solution.

facility
Our rope braiding facility, located in Sydney, Australia, was developed with one main goal in mind; to provide our clients with the best of both worlds. Our parent company in France, Corderie Lancelin has been manufacturing rope for over 100 years and is one of the most advanced rope braiders in Europe, having the largest in-house textile testing facilities. Lancelin Pacific has been created to provide our clients access to all the benefits of Corderie Lancelin, while also having a facility in Sydney for prototyping and developing rope for specific and custom projects. Our facility in Sydney was designed to be agile, putting you in touch with the expert braider personally through our consultation services, while reducing both costs and lead times. Lancelin Pacific is small enough to reduce lead times during the consultation, prototyping and development phases, whilst remaining large enough to manufacture rope for the local market, with the added bonus of being able to utilise the French factory for larger orders once development has been finalised. We are the only rope braider in the world that is designed to do what we do.

Frequently asked questions
- What are the benefits of branch bracing?
-
Branch bracing is the term given to the practice of stabilising or limiting the movement of a branch to prevent excessive flex in extreme weather. Branch bracing is also used in situations where the tree has branches above public space and falling branches pose a risk. If carried out correctly with a well-designed rope system the tree will retain natural and safe movement and allow for growth. The bracing is usually spliced around two, or some times more, opposing stems. These Synthetic systems should be checked periodically for wear and adjustment.
- What is ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene?
-
Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE, UHMW) is a type of thermoplastic polyethylene/ high-modus polyethylene. Being highly resistant to corrosive chemicals, self-lubricating, having low moisture absorption and being highly resistant to abrasion, it is perfect ballistic protection, defense applications, and increasingly in medical devices, sailing, hiking equipment, climbing, and many other industries. It is synonymous with and often referred to the brand names, Dyneema, commercialized in the late 1970s by the Dutch chemical company DSM, and Spectra, commercialized by Honeywell.
- How long will my rope last?
-
The longevity of a rope is dependent on many different factors, some of which can be impacted by the choice of fibers and construction at the time of purchase. Some of the factors that impact the longevity of rope are UV and chemical exposure, geographical environment, maintenance and the frequency of cycles (days of use). For example: A rope used to perform an operation on a job site where it is exposed to fine dust and dirt will have a fraction of service life of the same rope that is used to perform a similar task inside a warehouse/factory. Some fibers like Dynnema have an outstanding UV and chemical resistance while fibers like Aramids and Para-aramids have significantly reduced UV resistance and some fibers like PBO are required to be completely covered to protect them from UV and moisture. Each rope or cable will need care and maintenance to see the longest life.
- What fibers will float?
-
Any fiber with a Specific gravity (relative density) less than 1.0 will typically float. Fibers like Dyneema (UHMWPE) 0.97 and Poly propylene 0.96 are the most common fibers used when making a rope that needs to float. Fibers can also be blended to achieve or coated to help with water repellency.
- What is the EA value?
-
Elastic Stiffness (EA) is a calculation of E (Youngs modulus) x A (the cross-sectional area). The EA value helps our customers and their clients compare various ropes and cables that may have different strengths, construction methods or even material and diameter.
